Runecloth is the top cloth of WoW Vanilla. Tailors need it for bags, armor and spellcaster sets; it goes into Runecloth Bandages and turns in for city reputation. On WoW x5 demand is constant. Here are the best spots.

What Drops It
Runecloth drops from humanoids level 50+: cultists, zealots, bandits, furbolgs, humanoid undead. Look for zones and dungeons with dense packs of such mobs.
◆Best Spots
| Location | Notes |
|---|---|
| Eastern Plaguelands | Scarlet Order and Scourge, dense camps |
| Winterspring | Winterfall furbolgs, compact loop |
| Silithus | Twilight's Hammer cultists |
| Stratholme (dungeon) | Lots of cloth + gold + reputation |
| Scholomance (dungeon) | Cultists and undead, dense packs |
Tactics
The open world is great for solo farming: loop humanoid camps and clear packs. The Stratholme and Scholomance dungeons yield more cloth per hour plus gold, recipes and reputation. Choose by goal: pure cloth — open world; cloth + loot — instances.
Do not vendor-trash grey and white drops blindly: humanoids drop vendor items and greens for the auction house or disenchanting. Cloth farming almost always pays twice.
◆Uses
- Tailoring — bags, armor, spellcaster sets (guide).
- Runecloth Bandages — out-of-combat healing consumable.
- Reputation — turn cloth in for Alliance and Horde city reputation.
