# WoW Classic First Aid Guide

First aid is a secondary skill in WoW Classic, available to every class alongside two main professions. Bandages give fast mana-free self-healing — critical for warriors, rogues and hunters in PvP and while farming. On the WoW Classic X5 server first aid helps keep leveling pace without downtime for regen.

A bandage can't be applied while taking damage — the effect breaks. Use it right after a fight or during a retreat. In PvP bandage around a corner or after breaking line of sight.

Leveling 1-300

1-75: Linen Bandage

Linen Bandage and Heavy Linen Bandage. Learn from the first aid trainer in a capital. Linen Cloth from starting humanoids.

75-150: Wool Bandage

Wool Bandage and Heavy Wool Bandage (from 125). Wool Cloth from level 20-35 zones.

150-210: Silk and Mageweave Bandage

Silk Bandage (150), Heavy Silk Bandage, Mageweave Bandage (180). Complete the Heavy Silk Bandage quest at the expert trainer here.

210-300: Runecloth Bandage

After the book 'Expert First Aid - Under Wraps' (removes the 225 cap) craft Runecloth Bandage (240) and Heavy Runecloth Bandage (260). Runecloth from Plaguelands, Silithus, Winterspring. This takes skill to 300.

X5 tip: on boosted rates humanoids die in packs and cloth piles up fast. Keep a stack of bandages in your bags while leveling — bandaging saves time between fights better than heading to food.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Bandaging while taking damage. Any hit breaks the bandage — use it only after breaking off the fight.
  • Hitting the 225 cap. Without the 'Under Wraps' book your skill stalls — buy or farm it early so you don't get stuck.
  • Hoarding bandages but not carrying them. Keep a stack in your bags — bandages in the bank are useless.
  • Forgetting anti-venoms. Anti-Venom cures poison on an ally — a handy tool in PvP and against poison bosses.

The right approach: level first aid in sync with tailoring — they share cloth, and one humanoid farm feeds both lines at once.

FAQ

Why bother with first aid if it's secondary?

First aid is a secondary skill: it doesn't take a main profession slot, you take it in addition. Bandages give fast mana-free self-healing in PvP and between fights, save food and are essential for non-healers: warriors, rogues, hunters.

How do I raise first aid above 225?

You need the book 'Expert First Aid - Under Wraps', which removes the 225 cap and teaches runecloth bandages. It drops from Stranglethorn humanoids or sells at auction. After it the road to 300 opens through Runecloth Bandage.

Is there enough cloth from leveling other professions?

Usually yes: cloth drops from humanoids constantly. If you level tailoring, set aside some linen, silk and runecloth for bandages. First aid and tailoring share the same material — level them in sync.
