◆Repair and resurrection
Field Repair Bot 74A
Field Repair Bot 74A is a portable merchant that repairs gear and buys unwanted items. It lasts 10 minutes, requires skill 300 and no specialization. The schematic is a world object in the workshops of Blackrock Depths. Details on the Field Repair Bot 74A page.
Goblin Jumper Cables
Goblin Jumper Cables and their upgraded version, Goblin Jumper Cables XL, give a chance to bring a dead player back to life out of combat. The regular cables are made at skill 165, the XL at 265 and only by Goblin Engineers; both share a 30 minute cooldown. Reagents, schematics and success chances are on the Goblin Jumper Cables page.
◆Teleports for engineers
Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan
This Gnomish trinket takes you to Gadgetzan in Tanaris. It requires skill 260 and has a 4 hour cooldown. The schematic is taught through dialogue by an engineer in Gadgetzan itself. Full breakdown on the Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan page.
Dimensional Ripper - Everlook
The Goblin answer tears a hole in the wall between worlds and drops you in Everlook in Winterspring. Same 260 skill and 4 hour cooldown, but with an honest warning about technical problems. Details on the Dimensional Ripper - Everlook page.

◆Mobility, stealth and control
Rocket boots
Goblin and Gnomish Rocket Boots greatly increase run speed for 20 seconds. Anyone can wear the Goblin pair, with a 5 minute cooldown, but they are explosive; the Gnomish pair requires skill 225 and has a 30 minute cooldown. Comparison on the rocket boots page.

◆Other utilities
No separate pages, based on 1.12.1 tooltips:
- World Enlarger — skill 250, Gnomish engineers only: enlarges the world for 5 minutes until your first attack, 1 hour cooldown.
- Gnomish Shrink Ray — skill 205: shrinks the target and reduces its attack power by 250 — at least, that is what usually happens. 5 minute cooldown.
- Gnomish Net-o-Matic Projector — skill 210: entangles the target in a net for 10 seconds, 10 minute cooldown; the net sometimes catches the user instead.
- Goblin Mining Helmet — skill 205, a mail helmet with +15 Stamina and +5 Mining skill.
◆Gnomes or goblins: which utilities for whom
The specialization is chosen at skill 200: Gnomish from Tinkmaster Overspark in Ironforge or Oglethorpe Obnoticus in Booty Bay, Goblin from Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan or Vazario Linkgrease in Ratchet. Quest details are in the Gnomish Engineering and Goblin Engineering guides.
- Teleport: a Gnome gets Gadgetzan in Tanaris, a Goblin gets Everlook in Winterspring.
- Boots: both branches craft their own boots, but anyone can wear the Goblin pair, which makes them a popular auction house item.
- Control: the mind control cap and the World Enlarger are Gnomish only.
- No branch: the repair bot, the jumper cables and the cloaking device are available to every engineer.
For a raiding engineer the repair bot (no specialization needed) and the jumper cables matter most. Note that the XL schematic requires the Goblin Engineer specialization, so gnomes are left with the regular cables.
