Route by Rich veins — they give more ore; crystals also come from Small veins, so mine those along the way too.

Best Routes

Eastern Plaguelands. One of the densest thorium loops: veins around the mountain rim, plus Plaguebloom and Runecloth.

Winterspring. Rich veins across the whole zone, few rivals thanks to distance. Also Rugged Leather.

Un'Goro Crater. A perfect figure-eight: small and rich thorium + Arcane Crystals + Dreamfoil.

Silithus. Rich thorium, Arcane Crystals and elemental reagents.

The Arcane Crystal comes with a small chance from both Small and Rich Thorium veins. An alchemist with skill 275 transmutes a Thorium Bar + Arcane Crystal into an Arcanite Bar; the transmute has a cooldown. Arcanite goes into the enchanters' Arcanite Rod and top blacksmith weapons.
