How to Farm
Dire Maul (West/North). Dense humanoid packs drop level 55-60 greens for disenchanting into Illusion Dust and Greater Eternal Essence. Plus Runecloth on the side.
Eastern Plaguelands — Scarlet Crusade. Lots of 55-60 greens and blue items for shards. Pairs with Runecloth farming and Plaguebloom.
Dungeons for shards. Blue drops from Scholomance, Stratholme, BRD and Dire Maul disenchant into Large Radiant Shards and, from epics, Nexus Crystals. See dungeon grinding.
The Nexus Crystal is the most expensive reagent. It drops from disenchanting high-level blues and some epics. Don't vendor blue items — always disenchant if the crystal is worth more than the item on the AH.
