WoW Classic Anti-Venom: Recipes, Venom Sacs and Powerful Anti-Venom

◆What an anti-venom is and how it works

An anti-venom is a consumable used on yourself or an ally that removes poison effects. The main limit is poison level: a low-rank vial will not remove the poison of a high-level mob. All three anti-venoms take 3 seconds to create and share a 1 minute cooldown after use.

Powerful Anti-Venom has one extra rule: according to its tooltip you need 300 First Aid to use it. Regular and Strong Anti-Venom have no such requirement in their tooltips, so any character can use them.

Anti-venom pairs naturally with bandages: cure the poison first, then bandage safely with nothing left to interrupt the channel.

◆All 1.12.1 anti-venoms

Venom sacs drop from venomous creatures: Small mostly from level 10–20 spiders, Large from most spiders and scorpids on both continents, Huge from high-level spiders and scorpids. A venom sac stack holds 5.

How to get anti-venom recipes

1. Anti-Venom (80). Taught by First Aid trainers, just like the first bandages. Small Venom Sacs come from spiders at low levels.
2. Strong Anti-Venom (130). Learned from Manual: Strong Anti-Venom, a world drop from creatures of roughly level 19–36. The manual requires 130 First Aid; you can also look for it on the auction house.
3. Powerful Anti-Venom (300). Learned from Formula: Powerful Anti-Venom, an Argent Dawn reputation reward at Honored. It is sold by the order's quartermasters: Quartermaster Miranda Breechlock at Light's Hope Chapel (Eastern Plaguelands), Argent Quartermaster Lightspark at Chillwind Camp (Western Plaguelands) and Argent Quartermaster Hasana at the Bulwark on the border of Tirisfal Glades and the Western Plaguelands.

◆Uses: who needs anti-venom

• Warriors, rogues and hunters — they have no poison cure of their own, and an anti-venom saves the day while leveling solo and in dungeons.
• Groups without a cleanser — shamans and druids can cure poison, but if none is around a vial replaces the spell.
• Against player poisons — in PvP rogues apply their poisons; the poison level decides which anti-venom works. An overview is in the rogue poisons guide.

Tips

• Keep your Huge Venom Sacs: there is no other way to get Powerful Anti-Venom in 1.12.1.
• Put anti-venoms on your bar next to bandages — the cure-then-bandage combo saves time between fights.
