War heroes of the Horde and Alliance

They do not always rule nations, but it was their blades, axes and hammers that forged the balance of power you find in WoW Classic.
Veterans of the Horde
The old Horde was led by fierce clan chieftains. Grommash Hellscream was the first to drink Mannoroth's blood and the last to free the Horde from the curse, while Varok Saurfang fought through all three wars and now holds the defense of Orgrimmar.
Defenders of Durotar
The young Horde of Thrall is guarded by new heroes. The half-orc, half-ogre Rexxar and his bear Misha became the champion of Durotar, while the stern Nazgrel is responsible for the warchief's security.
Commanders of the Alliance
On the side of the Alliance fought the finest warriors of dwarves and humans. Muradin Bronzebeard trained prince Arthas, his explorer brother Brann uncovers the secrets of the titans, and Danath Trollbane commanded the expedition beyond the Dark Portal.
Riders of the sky
A special glory belongs to the gryphon riders of the Wildhammer clan. Kurdran Wildhammer led the sky cavalry into battle in the Second War and stayed in Outland, covering his comrades' retreat.

These heroes explain who holds the world of Azeroth together while you level. The banners of the Warsong clan in Ashenvale, the Wildhammer gryphons over the Hinterlands, Saurfang in the throne room of Orgrimmar — each one has a war legend behind it.
