A bear of giants
Ursoc was a spirit of bear-might — vast, furious and fearless. Among the Wild Gods he embodied raw strength and protection, while his brother Ursol leaned toward wisdom. Both bears were revered by the night elves and the forest peoples of Kalimdor.
The gift of the bear form
It was from Ursoc and his brother that druids received the bear shape. In this form a druid gains a thick hide, an enormous pool of health and a beast's fury — everything needed to take blows head-on. Every bear druid in battle briefly becomes a reflection of Ursoc.
Battle of the Ancients
Like the other Wild Gods, the brother bears rose to defend Azeroth in the War of the Ancients against the Burning Legion. Ursoc fought with a fury worthy of his form, and his deeds passed into legend. The bear Ancients remained forever a symbol of endurance.
Veneration of the furbolg
Azeroth's bear-folk — the furbolg — especially revere Ursoc and Ursol as their ancestral gods. Their shamans call upon the bear spirits, and the tribes keep the memory of the great Ancients. So Ursoc's legacy lives not only in druids but among the forest tribes.
