A bear of wisdom
Among the Wild Gods, Ursol stood out not for fury but for thoughtfulness and steadfastness of spirit. He embodied the side of the bear's nature bound to protecting the clan and to calm strength. The night elves honored him alongside his brother Ursoc as a guardian of Kalimdor's forests.
Brother Ancients
Ursol and Ursoc were inseparable — two bears who completed one another: one bore fury, the other wisdom. Together they became patrons of the druids' bear form. It is the balance of their natures that a druid feels when shifting into a bear: both the beast's might and cold-blooded endurance.
Defenders in the War of the Ancients
When the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth in the War of the Ancients, the brother bears rose to defend the world with the other Wild Gods. Ursol fought side by side with Ursoc, and their endurance helped the defenders hold the line against the demonic hordes.
A legacy among the tribes
Like Ursoc, Ursol is especially revered by the furbolg — the bear-folk of Kalimdor. Their shamans call upon the spirit of the wise bear, seeking protection and counsel. Through druids and furbolg alike, the memory of Ursol lives on in Azeroth to this day.
