Who is Tyrande
Tyrande is the High Priestess of Elune, the moon goddess of the night elves, and the commander of the Sentinels — the female army of the kaldorei. She is one of the oldest and wisest figures of Azeroth, a survivor of the War of the Ancients ten thousand years ago.
Tyrande's mate is the archdruid Malfurion Stormrage. In the Vanilla era he is immersed in the Emerald Dream, and the burden of rule falls upon the priestess. It is she who keeps the kaldorei united in a world where ancient magic and nature are under threat.
The night elves and Darnassus
After the sundering of ancient Kalimdor the night elves forsook arcane magic to worship nature and Elune. Their new capital is Darnassus, grown among the branches of the colossal tree Teldrassil above Teldrassil.
In the Vanilla era the night elves have recently joined the Alliance, bringing it ancient wisdom, druids and deadly huntresses. Tyrande is the voice of this ancient people among humans, dwarves and gnomes.
