Who is Tirion
Tirion Fordring is one of the first Knights of the Silver Hand, the paladins who carried the Light in the days of the Second War. He was the lord of Mardenholde in Hearthglen and a revered hero of Lordaeron.
After the war Tirion broke his duty for honor's sake: an orc named Eitrigg, who had once spared his life, saved him again, and Tirion refused to condemn his rescuer. For this the paladin was cast out of the order and stripped of all his titles. Since then he has lived as a hermit, far from other people.
The tragedy of the Fordring family
Tirion's son, Taelan Fordring, grew up to become the Highlord of the Scarlet Crusade in Hearthglen — a fanatical brotherhood that "cleanses" the Plaguelands with fire and sword, sparing neither the living nor the dead. Father and son ended up on opposite sides.
The famous In Dreams quest chain leads the player to help Tirion reach his son and free Taelan from the Crusade's grip — a story of faith, family and redemption that many Vanilla veterans remember. Later, beyond Classic, Tirion will lead the Argent Crusade.
