Tichondrius: dreadlord of the Burning Legion
Tichondrius was a dreadlord of the nathrezim race and one of the Burning Legion's chief demons in the Third War. He oversaw the Scourge and mentored the fallen Prince Arthas — and his death left behind the dead, poisoned forest of Felwood.

◆Nathrezim in the Legion's service
Dreadlords are cunning vampiric demons and masters of intrigue. Kil'jaeden tasked them with watching the Lich King and his Scourge so the undead would serve the Legion's plans. Tichondrius was the eldest among them.
◆Mentor of Arthas
After Arthas took Frostmourne and slew his father, Tichondrius became his handler. He directed the death knight against Quel'Thalas and Dalaran to clear the way for Archimonde.
◆The Skull of Gul'dan
In Kalimdor Tichondrius seized the Skull of Gul'dan — an artifact of immense demonic power. With it the demons began to poison the ancient forest north of Ashenvale.
◆Slain by Illidan
Freed from his prison, Illidan consumed the Skull's power, took on a demonic form and killed Tichondrius in a duel. But the corruption soaking the forest never faded.
◆Felwood in WoW Classic
The whole Felwood zone (levels 48–55) bears the marks of Tichondrius's deeds: poisoned streams, fel taint, demons in Jaedenar and Shadow Hold. Players cleanse the forest in Cenarion Circle quests and gather corrupted plants there.
◆Why it matters
Tichondrius ties the Scourge and the Legion into a single conspiracy and explains why a whole Kalimdor zone looks dead. He is an important part of Third War lore.
