Grommash Hellscream
Grommash 'Grom' Hellscream, chieftain of the Warsong, embodied orcish fury and loyalty. His battle axe Gorehowl became the clan's symbol. Grom was the first to answer Gul'dan's call and the first to drink the blood of the pit lord Mannoroth, bringing the blood curse upon the whole Horde and binding the orcs to the Burning Legion.
Curse and redemption
Years later, in Kalimdor, the blood rage seized the clan again in Ashenvale. Thrall and the Prophet freed Grom of the taint, and in a final battle he slew Mannoroth, tearing the blood curse from the Horde at the cost of his life. Grom's death redeemed the very sin he was first to commit.
Warsong in Kalimdor
The Warsong clan settled in Kalimdor and took up logging in Ashenvale, sparking a long conflict with the night elves and their Sentinels. The Warsong Lumber Camp and the felling of sacred groves are a constant flashpoint of the faction war by the Vanilla era.
Warsong Gulch
The clan's best-known legacy in WoW Classic is the Warsong Gulch battleground, where the Warsong Outriders fight the Silverwing Sentinels over flags and control of the forest. It is one of the three classic Vanilla PvP battlegrounds alongside Alterac Valley.
