Where to Buy Companion Pets in WoW Classic 1.12.1 — Cats, Parrots, Snakes
Companion pet vendors in WoW Classic are where most collections start: patch 1.12.1 has no pet journal, but about a dozen NPCs sell cats, owls, parrots and snakes for silver. Below is the full vendor list with prices, factions and tips for the WoW x5 server.

What pet vendors sell
In Vanilla every non-combat pet is an ordinary item: a carrier, a crate, a box or a whistle. It sits in your bags and summons the critter on right click; a second click dismisses it. The pet never fights, never gains experience and gives no bonuses; it is purely cosmetic. The mechanics and the full list are covered in our hub on companion pets in WoW Classic.
One important detail: almost every vendor pet binds when used. Until you open the carrier, you can hand it to a friend, mail it or list it on the auction house.
How to buy a pet: step by step
- Pick a critter from the table below and check the vendor's faction.
- Travel to the vendor: for Narkk follow the guide on how to get to Booty Bay, for Halpa head to Thunder Bluff.
- Talk to the vendor and buy the carrier for silver.
- Right-click the item and the pet appears next to you and follows you around.

These are base prices; they drop slightly as your reputation with the vendor's faction grows. Note that the Russian client names the parrots differently from the English breeds, so do not be confused by foreign guides.

- Donni Anthania lives in a cottage in Elwynn Forest between Northshire Valley, Goldshire and Stormwind; cats always roam her yard.
- Lil Timmy spawns on the canal bank by Cathedral Square, walks a loop along the Stormwind canals and then despawns. He usually carries only one White Kitten, so players camp him.
- Yarlyn Amberstill is a dwarf girl who runs around the ranch chasing her rabbit Fluffy.
- Halpa stands in a small hut by the bridge to Hunter Rise, facing away from the city.
- Flik only sells during the Darkmoon Faire, which in 1.12 visits Elwynn Forest and Mulgore. The boy keeps chasing a frog: talk to the frog and it stops, and so does Flik.
Tips: factions, auction house and collecting
Horde players cannot buy cats, owls or the rabbit directly. Look for them on the neutral auction house; see our auction house guide. The Alliance gets snakes, cockroaches and prairie dogs the same way.
- The neutral vendors, Narkk, Magus Tirth and Flik, serve both factions, so parrots, the chicken and the frogs are available to everyone.
- Before heading to the chicken vendor, read how to get to Thousand Needles: Mirage Raceway lies in the south-east of the zone, on the Shimmering Flats.
- Vendor pets are only part of a collection: there are engineering pets, the quest reward Mechanical Chicken, and rare critters from dungeons and the open world.
- Do not confuse vanity critters with combat hunter pets; that is a completely different system.

Donni Anthania sells four cat breeds from her cottage in Elwynn Forest between Goldshire and Stormwind, 40 silver per carrier. The White Kitten is sold by Lil Timmy, a rare spawn who wanders the Stormwind canals, for 60 silver.
?Can the Horde buy a cat or an owl?
Not directly: the cat, owl and rabbit vendors belong to the Alliance and will not trade with the Horde. However, the carriers only bind when used, so Horde players can buy them from Alliance players through the neutral auction houses in Booty Bay, Gadgetzan or Everlook.
?Which pet vendors are neutral?
Three vendors are neutral: Narkk in Booty Bay with parrots, Magus Tirth in Thousand Needles with the Ancona Chicken, and Flik at the Darkmoon Faire with frogs. Players of both factions can buy from them.
?Do vendor pets give any bonuses?
No. In patch 1.12.1 a companion is an item in your bags that summons and dismisses the critter with a right click. It never fights, gives no stats and exists purely for looks and collecting.
