The wild creatures of Azeroth are the great beasts and beings a player meets in the wilds but, unlike the beast pets, cannot tame. These are the kodo and thunder lizards of the savanna, the basilisks of the wastes, the shaggy yeti of the cold mountains, and the crawling oozes of the caves. This section extends the general Bestiary of Azeroth on the WowX5 x5 server.
Many of these creatures hit noticeably harder than ordinary mobs of their level. A basilisk turns you to stone, a yeti is tough, and oozes split when struck — do not underestimate them.
What the wild creatures are
By "wild creatures" we group the large beasts and aberrations that rule their corners of the world. Some are peaceful herbivore giants like the kodo, others are fierce predators and reptiles, and still others are not beasts at all but living slime and acid. They share one thing: they are neither sentient peoples nor tameable hunter pets, but formidable inhabitants of the environment.
For the player such creatures are a source of good loot: thick hides, scales, meat and rare quest parts. But many are dangerous solo and deserve respect for their strength.

Beasts, reptiles and aberrations
The creatures of this section fall into three kinds. Beasts — kodo, thunder lizards and yeti: living, warm creatures struck with weapons and skinned for hides. Reptiles — basilisks, cold-blooded and venomous, whose gaze turns flesh to stone. Aberrations — oozes: shapeless living acid, immune to poison and leaving no hide.
Knowing a creature's kind helps you prepare: against a basilisk beware petrification, against an ooze do not rely on poisons, and meet a yeti with a full supply of healing.
