Nazgrel is a stern orc warrior and security advisor to warchief Thrall. While the warchief dreams of peace, it is Nazgrel who keeps his blade ready, shielding the young Horde from threats without and within. Where Thrall sees allies, Nazgrel sees possible traitors, and this vigilance has more than once saved the warchief's life.

Comrade of Thrall

Nazgrel stood beside Thrall in the days when he gathered the scattered clans into a new Horde. He believed in the warchief, but always kept a warrior's vigilance.

Guardian of security

As head of security, Nazgrel is responsible for the defense of Orgrimmar and the protection of the warchief. He is suspicious of outsiders and does not share Thrall's full trust in the Alliance.

A voice of caution

Nazgrel often argues against the warchief's peaceful policy, reminding him of the price of naivety. His hard line balances Thrall's idealism and has more than once saved the Horde from disaster.

A warrior of the old school

Direct and uncompromising, Nazgrel values strength and honor above words. To young warriors he is a model of discipline, and to enemies a fearsome foe at the gates of the capital.

Nazgrel in Vanilla

In WoW Classic Nazgrel can be found in Orgrimmar, at Thrall's court. He embodies the part of the Horde that remembers the price of war and is slow to trust recent enemies — an important voice among the war heroes. In him the player sees the Horde that is ready for peace but never forgets the war.
