Mighty and steadfast, Neltharion was the embodiment of strength and endurance. His kin trusted him without reservation — and it was that very trust that turned into the greatest catastrophe in dragon history.
Whispers from the Deep
Too close to the depths of the world, Neltharion heard the voices of the Old Gods imprisoned there. Their whispers slowly poisoned his mind with paranoia and a hunger for destruction, unnoticed by the other Aspects.
The Dragon Soul and the Betrayal
At the height of the War of the Ancients, Neltharion secretly forged the Dragon Soul, pouring into it part of each flight's power. At the decisive moment he turned the artifact on his kin, all but destroying the blue flight and becoming Deathwing the Destroyer forever.
The Black Flight in Vanilla
