Cloth Donation: Quartermasters, Quests and Rewards
Cloth donation is the easiest way to raise your standing with your faction capitals in Vanilla 1.12.1: no dungeons, just cloth from your bags. Every capital has a cloth quartermaster who accepts wool, silk, mageweave and runecloth. On the WoW x5 server the donation chains work exactly as in the original 1.12.1 and remain the main peaceful path to Exalted with the capitals.

◆How cloth donations work
Each capital has its own chain of five quests. The first four are one-time, the fifth can be repeated any number of times. The data below comes from our server quest database.

Key details:
- A Donation of Runecloth appears only after you have turned in wool, silk and mageweave to the same quartermaster.
- Additional Runecloth opens after A Donation of Runecloth and can then be turned in without limit.
- The quests give experience, and at level 60 a small amount of money instead. There are no item rewards.
- Capital quartermasters do not take Linen Cloth. The cloth must be in your bags; bolts do not count — see cloth bolts.

Cloth quartermasters in the capitals
All quartermasters carry the title Alliance Cloth Quartermaster or Horde Cloth Quartermaster and usually stand near the tailors.
Alliance
- Clavicus Knavingham — Stormwind reputation, Stormwind.
- Mistina Steelshield — Ironforge reputation, Ironforge.
- Bubulo Acerbus — Gnomeregan Exiles, also in Ironforge, near the Deeprun Tram entrance.
- Raedon Duskstriker — Darnassus reputation, Craftsmen's Terrace in Darnassus.
Horde
- Rashona Straglash — Orgrimmar reputation, Orgrimmar.
- Vehena — Darkspear Trolls, also in Orgrimmar, next to the mage trainers.
- Rumstag Proudstrider — Thunder Bluff reputation, Thunder Bluff.
- Ralston Farnsley — Undercity reputation, Undercity.
Why build capital reputation
The main reason is the mounts of other races in your faction: they are sold only at Exalted with the matching capital. See reputation mounts and the reputation guide for details. The repeatable quest gives 50 reputation per 20 runecloth, so 1000 reputation costs 400 cloth. Humans earn 10% more thanks to the racial ability Diplomacy. Finish the one-time donations in every city you need first: they give three times more reputation per piece of cloth than the repeatable quest.
Special cloth quests
Timbermaw Hold
Meilosh in Timbermaw Hold accepts cloth once you are Friendly with the Timbermaw: the quest Runecloth — 30 runecloth for +100 reputation and a choice of Shadowskin Spaulders or Bricksteel Gauntlets, and Sacred Cloth — 2 mooncloth for +100 reputation. Steamwheedle Cartel
Since patch 1.11 every goblin town has a repeatable quest for players who ruined their standing by working for the Bloodsail Buccaneers. It is available only while your reputation with that town is below Neutral, and gives +500 to the town and −500 to the Bloodsail.

FAQ
?How much cloth do I need and how much reputation does it give?
Each donation takes 60 cloth for +150 reputation with one capital and can be done once. After all four, the repeatable quest Additional Runecloth opens: 20 runecloth for +50 reputation.
?What level do I need to donate cloth?
Wool from level 12, silk from 26, mageweave from 40 and runecloth from 50. A Donation of Runecloth only appears after the three earlier donations are done.
?Can I donate cloth to several cities?
Yes. Each capital has its own chain and its own quartermaster, and donating to one city does not affect the others. The quests are identical apart from the faction.
?How do I repair Booty Bay reputation with cloth?
If you are below Neutral with one of the Steamwheedle Cartel towns, a repeatable quest is available there: 40 cloth for +500 with that town and -500 with the Bloodsail Buccaneers. Booty Bay takes silk cloth.
