In the Old Horde the Burning Blade was a clan of possessed warriors who fell into demonic frenzy and fought with two blades, feeling no pain. Their fury was fed by a bond with the Burning Legion through the Shadow Council.
The demonic cult
After the Old Horde's fall the Burning Blade name was inherited by a secret cult of demon-worshippers. Unlike Thrall, these orcs never renounced the fel and kept serving demons, recruiting renegades across Kalimdor.
Burning Blade in WoW Classic
In Vanilla the Burning Blade cult is a frequent foe of young orcs: their lairs hide in Durotar (the Skull Rock caves), the Barrens and the wastes. Their agent Neeru Fireblade operates in Orgrimmar's Cleft of Shadow — a dark stain in the heart of the Horde capital.
Role in the lore
