Who is Bolvar
Bolvar Fordragon is one of the noblest knights of the Alliance, a paladin and seasoned commander. When King Varian Wrynn mysteriously vanishes, a heavy burden falls on Bolvar's shoulders: to rule Stormwind as regent for the young prince Anduin Wrynn.
Bolvar is honest and loyal, but his virtue makes him vulnerable to intrigue. In the Vanilla era the court of Stormwind harbors Lady Katrana Prestor — in truth the black dragon Onyxia in human guise — who weaves plots and turns the kingdom's nobles against one another.
Stormwind under threat
The human capital is Stormwind, a city of white stone, cathedrals and canals, rebuilt after the Second War. The kingdom is torn by internal strife: impoverished Westfall suffers under the Defias Brotherhood, and unrest spreads through the outer lands.
Bolvar tries to hold the kingdom together, but Onyxia-Prestor's manipulations hinder him at every step. It is the unmasking and killing of Onyxia (a 40-player raid) that frees the court from her influence — one of the great storylines of Vanilla.
