What bats are
Bats are chiropteran flyers with leathery wings and sharp claws. They are active at dusk and night, nest in caves, crypts and ruins, and gather in whole colonies in plague-ridden lands. Their shrill squeak and darting flight make them recognizable dwellers of the grim zones.
Like other wild beasts, bats are ordinary winged beasts, so a hunter can tame them as pets. They are valued for their mobility and claw damage.
