Daelin Proudmoore: Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras

◆The Alliance fleet

In the Second War the Kul Tiran fleet was the naval might of the Alliance and fought Horde ships off the coast of Lordaeron. The admiral's eldest son Derek died in that war, and Daelin came to hate orcs forever.

◆Campaign to Kalimdor

After the Third War Daelin learned that his daughter had founded Theramore next to Thrall's Horde. Not believing in peace with orcs, he brought his fleet to the shores of Durotar and started a war against the new Horde.

◆Death at Theramore

Jaina tried to stop her father, but he would not listen. Horde forces led by Rexxar and Thrall besieged Theramore, and the admiral fell in battle. Jaina let the Horde prevail to save the fragile peace.

◆Legacy in WoW Classic

Remnants of Proudmoore's expedition still hold Tiragarde Keep on the Durotar coast: Kul Tiran sailors fight the Horde, and new orc and troll players take quests against them. And in Dustwallow Marsh stands Theramore — his daughter's city.

◆A family divided

Daelin's death split Jaina from her homeland: Kul Tiras considered her a traitor. This wound becomes an important part of her story in later eras of Warcraft.

◆Why it matters

The admiral's story explains why there is a Kul Tiran fortress in Durotar and why peace between Theramore and Orgrimmar is so fragile. It is a direct bridge from Warcraft III lore to the Horde starting-zone quests.
