Bloodsail Buccaneers Reputation
Bloodsail Buccaneers are a pirate faction based in Stranglethorn Vale. This is a collector's reputation: it grants no combat rewards but is popular with achievement hunters and roleplayers. Understand the cost first — grinding Bloodsail hard-drops your Steamwheedle Cartel reputation.
How to gain reputation
The only method is killing Steamwheedle Cartel goblins in the four neutral towns:
- Booty Bay — Stranglethorn Vale.
- Gadgetzan — Tanaris.
- Everlook — Winterspring.
- Ratchet — The Barrens.
Killing guards and townsfolk grants Bloodsail points but simultaneously lowers your standing with all four goblin towns.
Start in Booty Bay: the town is compact, guards are densely packed, and a graveyard sits nearby.

◆Is it worth it
Weigh the trade-offs honestly:
- Pro: a unique status, friendly pirates, a collector's tick.
- Con: losing neutral towns, auction house and flight paths is a real day-to-day nuisance.
- Tip: save this reputation for the end of your progression, once your level 60 business is done.
Before starting the Bloodsail grind, finish all business in goblin towns: stock up on reagents, cancel auctions and set up flight paths — that access closes afterwards.

?What does Bloodsail reputation give?
No real combat rewards — it is a collector and roleplay reputation. Bloodsail pirates in Stranglethorn become friendly, but you lose access to the neutral goblin towns in return.
?Why does Steamwheedle reputation drop?
Bloodsail and Steamwheedle are mutually exclusive: raising one means killing members of the other. Grinding Bloodsail pushes Steamwheedle down toward Hated.
?Can I reverse the reputation later?
Yes, but it is slow: to restore access to goblin towns you must farm Steamwheedle reputation again by killing Bloodsail pirates.
