Reputations
Hydraxian Waterlords Reputation Guide
The Hydraxian Waterlords are water elementals opposed to Ragnaros. This reputation is tied to the Molten Core raid: only with it can you douse boss runes and ultimately summon Majordomo Executus and Ragnaros himself.
How to gain reputation
- Dousing boss runes in Molten Core with Aqual Quintessence — each doused altar grants reputation.
- The quest chain on Dark Iron Isle (Azshara) to obtain the Quintessence.
- Killing Molten Core bosses grants points throughout the run.
Aqual Quintessence is single-use — bring a supply each run until you unlock the reusable Eternal Quintessence at Exalted.
Farming route
| Action | Where | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Dousing runes | Molten Core | Friendly → Revered |
| Killing MC bosses | Molten Core | throughout |
| Repeat raids | weekly | Revered → Exalted |
Rewards by tier
- Friendly → Revered: access to summoning Majordomo and Ragnaros, select items.
- Exalted: Eternal Quintessence — a reusable rune-dousing item that removes the need to farm the single-use version.
Without dousing runes you cannot summon the final bosses of Molten Core. So Hydraxian reputation progresses naturally alongside your raid clears.
Priority and tips
Hydraxian Waterlords is a reputation built into Molten Core progression. You don't farm it separately: it grows as you clear. Tips:
- Keep a supply of Aqual Quintessence until Exalted — without it you cannot douse runes or summon the final bosses.
- Douse runes every run: it is both raid progress and reputation points at once.
- Do the Dark Iron Isle chain ahead of time so you don't stall the raid on run day.
- Exalted = Eternal Quintessence: a reusable item that ends the need to farm the single-use version.
