Geists are the small, nimble undead of the Scourge: hunched clawed creatures forever darting across the battlefield. Where ghouls crush by numbers and skeletons by formation, geists rely on speed and leaping.

Совет

A geist is less a soldier than a worker of war. While the death knights lead the regiments, the geists secure the Scourge's key resource — fresh corpses.

Who are the geists

A geist is a hunched clawed undead smaller than a man, with long clinging limbs and eerie leaping power. There is little mind in it but agility to spare: a geist bounds, clambers and lunges in ways that make it hard to pin down.

The Scourge creates geists not for a frontal fight but for the dirty work of the undead host — fast, pestering and endless.

Corpse gatherers

A geist's chief task is to drag the bodies of the fallen to the ziggurats and necropolises where the necromancers and liches will raise new undead from them. So geists close the grim cycle of the Scourge: every slain defender becomes raw material for new ghouls and skeletons.

In battle a geist is dangerous with swift lunges and a clinging grip — it hangs onto its victim, giving no chance to break free. A single geist is no great threat, but a pack of them can tie down even a seasoned warrior while the heavy undead close in. That is why the Scourge readily throws geists at scattered travellers and those who fall behind the group.

Geists in the Warcraft world

Geists are a vivid example that the army of the Lich King is built like a single machine: every creature has its role, and even corpse-gathering is put on a conveyor. It is this efficiency that makes the Scourge so relentless.

FAQ

Who are geists in WoW Classic

Geists are small, nimble undead of the Scourge, hunched clawed creatures. They are less soldiers than workers of war: they drag the corpses of the fallen to ziggurats and necropolises so the necromancers can raise new undead.

How do geists differ from ghouls

Ghouls are expendable infantry that crush by numbers, while geists rely on agility and leaping. Their role is closer to the support staff of the undead army, yet in battle they are dangerous with quick lunges and clinging claws.

Where did geists come from

Geists appeared in the later wars of the Scourge as nimble minions of the Lich King, created to gather corpses and do the small dirty work of the undead host.
