Apprentice of the Deceiver
An outcast and a cripple, Gul'dan answered the call of Kil'jaeden. The Deceiver taught him the magic of the fel and made him his tool, promising power in exchange for the souls of the orc people.
The Shadow Council
Gul'dan founded the secret Shadow Council — a network of warlocks that ruled the clans from the shadows. Through it he corrupted the chieftains, arranged the drinking of Mannoroth's blood and prepared the invasion.
The Dark Portal
Together with mages, Gul'dan helped open the Dark Portal, linking Draenor and Azeroth. So began the First War: the Horde poured into Azeroth, leaving a scorched homeland behind.
Death knights and his end
Gul'dan created the first death knights, animating fallen bodies with warlocks. But his greed destroyed him: seeking the Tomb of Sargeras, he was torn apart by demons, never gaining the power he craved.
