Herbalism is one of the most profitable gathering professions in WoW Classic. Herbs are consumed by Alchemists to craft potions and flasks that every raider needs every week. On WoWx5 with x5 gather rates, you'll level faster and find rare herbs more frequently than on standard servers.
Profession Pairing
- Herbalism + Alchemy — the classic duo. Gather your own materials and sell finished flasks for maximum profit.
- Herbalism + Skinning — viable for leveling if you want to sell raw materials from multiple sources.
Leveling 1–300
1–50: Starting Zones
Learn from a Herbalism trainer in any major city. Collect:
- Peacebloom — everywhere in starting zones.
- Silverleaf — alongside Peacebloom.
- Earthroot (skill 15+) — at the base of cliffs and hills.
Best zones: Elwynn Forest (Alliance), Durotar / Mulgore (Horde).
50–100: Mid-level Zones
- Mageroyal (skill 50+) — Darkshore fields.
- Briarthorn (70+) — hillside thickets, Bloodhoof Village.

Azshara is excellent for skill 230–300: Sungrass, Dreamfoil, and Gromsblood are scattered across the zone. On WoWx5 the northern ridge route yields 15–20 stacks of Dreamfoil per circuit.

1. Black Lotus — required for Flask of Supreme Power / Flask of Distilled Wisdom. Sells for 20–40 gold each. 2. Dreamfoil — used in most endgame flasks and Elixir of Fortitude. Constant demand. 3. Gromsblood — Flask of the Titans (required by every warrior). Never goes out of demand. 4. Mountain Silversage — Flask of Distilled Wisdom for healers.
Dreamfoil Route in Azshara
Best circuit for skill 270–300: 1. Start at the northern mountain pass. 2. Follow the ridge southeast toward the Ruins of Eldarath. 3. Loop around the ruins on the outside edge. 4. Drop to the shoreline — pick up Sungrass. 5. Return north through the central plateau.
One circuit = 10–15 minutes, yielding 10–20 Dreamfoil + 2–5 Mountain Silversage.

When should I pick up Herbalism? At level 1. By level 10–15 you'll be selling Peacebloom and Silverleaf at a profit. By level 30 you should be farming Kingsblood.
Herbalism or Mining for gold? Herbalism is more consistently profitable at level 60 — consumables are needed every raid week. Mining is stronger early game but falls off at cap.
