Fishing is WoW Classic's most relaxed profession — no crafting, no gathering routes, just a fishing pole and a body of water. On WoWx5 with x5 rates your character reaches the right zones sooner, while the skill itself rises cast by cast. Poles, lures and gear are covered in the fishing poles hub.

Where do I get the best fishing pole?

The best pole in 1.12.1 is the Arcanite Fishing Pole (+35), a reward for winning the Stranglethorn fishing tournament. Horde players can earn Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 (+25) from the quest Snapjaws, Mon! from Katoom the Angler in the Hinterlands. The Big Iron Fishing Pole (+20) is available to everyone.

How do I raise Fishing above 225?

Artisan rank (up to 300) comes from the quest Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme in Dustwallow Marsh. It requires 225 skill and four rare fish from Feralas, Desolace, Swamp of Sorrows and Stranglethorn Vale.

Can I farm gold with Fishing?

Yes. Alchemists need Stonescale Eel for Flask of the Titans, while Nightfin Snapper and Sagefish feed raids. Fishing pools along the coasts of Azshara, Feralas and Stranglethorn give the best returns.
