How to Reach Tarren Mill in WoW Vanilla 1.12.1
How to get to Tarren Mill is one of the first questions a Horde character asks after level 20. Tarren Mill is a Forsaken town in Hillsbrad Foothills and a legendary world PvP hotspot, because the Alliance town of Southshore lies just a short ride to the south. Here is the route for both factions on the WoW x5 server (Vanilla 1.12.1).

◆Where Tarren Mill Is
The town lies in the northeastern part of Hillsbrad Foothills in the Eastern Kingdoms, right below the slopes of the Alterac Mountains. The recommended zone level is 20–30. Before the war it was a human village of Lordaeron; now the Forsaken hold its houses, the old church and the withered orchards.
Key landmarks nearby: Hillsbrad Fields with its farms and town hall to the west, Southshore to the south, Durnholde Keep across the river to the east, and the trail into the Hinterlands starting to the northeast.
How to Get to Tarren Mill as Horde
For the Horde the town is the natural continuation of Silverpine Forest, and the trip from Undercity is short.
- From Orgrimmar take the zeppelin to Tirisfal Glades and enter Undercity. If the city is new to you, read how to get to Undercity.
- From Undercity fly to The Sepulcher or walk south along the road through Silverpine Forest — see how to get to Silverpine Forest.
- From The Sepulcher follow the main road south. In the southern part of the forest the road turns east and leads into Hillsbrad.
- The road passes Hillsbrad Fields, which is human territory: the locals are hostile to the Horde, so stay on the road.
- At the signposted fork turn north and northeast. The bat handler Zarise stands at the entrance of the town — talk to her to discover the flight path.
An alternative for players who already have Arathi Highlands: from the Hammerfall flight path follow the road west through Thoradin's Wall and then turn north to Tarren Mill.

The Alliance only needs Tarren Mill for world PvP raids or quests against the Forsaken. The closest base is Southshore, and the route there is covered in how to get to Southshore. From Southshore it is a short ride north along the road.
- Forsaken guards are much higher level than the zone mobs and react quickly to attacks.
- On a PvP server expect a counter-raid on Southshore after you hit the town.
- Travel in a group and keep an escape route to your own flight path.

The town is the main Horde leveling hub for levels 20–30 in Lordaeron.
