How to Reach the Redridge Mountains in WoW 1.12.1
How to get to the Redridge Mountains is a question every Alliance character asks after level 15, once the Elwynn Forest quests run out. The Redridge Mountains are a scenic mountain valley with a huge lake, gnolls and Blackrock orcs - and for the Horde, a transit zone on the way north. Here are all routes for the WoW x5 server (Vanilla 1.12.1).

◆Where the Redridge Mountains Are
Redridge lies in the southern Eastern Kingdoms, east of Elwynn Forest, northeast of Duskwood and south of the Burning Steppes. The recommended level is 15-25. The zone is technically contested, but the Horde has no settlements, quests or flight path here. Subzones are described in the Redridge Mountains article.
Key landmarks:
- Lakeshire - a human town on the shore of Lake Everstill, the zone's only flight path and inn.
- Three Corners - a crossroads in the southwest with roads to Elwynn Forest, Duskwood, Lakeshire and east along the Lakeridge Highway.
- Stonewatch Keep - a fortress in the east captured by Blackrock orcs.
- Render's Camp - an orc camp in the north, at the pass into the Burning Steppes.

How to Get to Redridge as Alliance
You have to discover the Lakeshire flight path first, so the first trip is on foot. From Stormwind it is a short walk.
- Leave Stormwind through the main gate and follow the road to Goldshire.
- From Goldshire, keep to the road east - past Eastvale Logging Camp to the eastern edge of Elwynn Forest.
- The road leads to the Three Corners crossroads. Turn north.
- Follow the western shore of Lake Everstill to Lakeshire and talk to the gryphon master Ariena Stormfeather to discover the flight path.
After that you can fly to Lakeshire from Stormwind, Sentinel Hill, Darkshire and Morgan's Vigil in the Burning Steppes. Dwarves and gnomes from Ironforge should first take the Deeprun Tram to Stormwind. Night elves can sail from Auberdine to Menethil Harbor and then make their way to Ironforge and Stormwind.

How to Get to Redridge as Horde
The Horde has little to do in Redridge, but the zone lies on the path between the Burning Steppes and Duskwood. The closest Horde flight paths are Grom'gol Base Camp in Stranglethorn Vale and Flame Crest in the Burning Steppes.
Southern route (level 20+):
- In Orgrimmar or Undercity, take the zeppelin to Grom'gol Base Camp.
- Follow the road north through northern Stranglethorn into Duskwood.
- In eastern Duskwood, skirt around Darkshire and find the road leading north - it takes you to the Three Corners crossroads.
- From Three Corners, stay well away from Lakeshire: its guards attack Horde players.
The northern route crosses a level 50+ zone: from Flame Crest in the Burning Steppes, head south to the pass at Render's Camp. Reaching the Steppes is covered in how to get to the Burning Steppes, and the way to Grom'gol in how to get to Stranglethorn Vale.
Where the Entrances Are and What to Watch For
- West - the road from Elwynn Forest to Three Corners. The safest way in for new players.
- Southwest - the road from Duskwood, also to Three Corners.
- North - the pass from the Burning Steppes at Render's Camp. Mobs on the other side are 30 levels higher - deadly for characters in their 20s.
- There is no regular road from Redridge to the Swamp of Sorrows - go through Duskwood and Deadwind Pass instead (see how to get to the Swamp of Sorrows).
- Gnolls and murlocs roam the Lakeridge Highway, and orcs hold the north. Stay on the road and do not swim far into the lake.

Routes to Redridge: Summary Table
| Step | Alliance | Horde |
|---|---|---|
| Start | Stormwind | Orgrimmar or Undercity |
| Transport | On foot through Elwynn Forest, later gryphon to Lakeshire | Zeppelin to Grom'gol or wind rider to Flame Crest |
| Zone entrance | Three Corners | Three Corners (south) or Render's Camp (north) |
| Closest flight path | Lakeshire | Flame Crest |
Set your hearthstone at the Lakeshire inn: almost every quest in the zone is handed out in town, and the gryphon ride to Stormwind is short.

◆Why Go to Redridge
Redridge is the natural next step after Elwynn Forest and Westfall: dense quest chains against gnolls and Blackrock orcs, murloc hunting by the lake and group quests in Stonewatch Keep. The quest order is in the Redridge Mountains leveling guide, and the next zone by level is Duskwood. To save time on the road, read the flight paths guide and the world travel guide.
