How to get to Thelsamar is a question every dwarf and gnome faces after finishing the Dun Morogh quests. Thelsamar is the main town of Loch Modan, where the roads from Ironforge, the Wetlands and the Badlands meet. On the WoW x5 server you will reach it around level 10–12, so here is the route for both factions.

Where Thelsamar Is

Thelsamar lies in the western part of Loch Modan, a green mountain valley east of snowy Dun Morogh. Grizzlepaw Ridge rises south of the town, Stonesplinter Valley lies to the southwest, and the great Loch shines to the east. A north-south road runs just west of the town: its northern end leads to Algaz Station and the Wetlands, its southern end to the South Gate into Dun Morogh. How to Get There as Alliance

On foot from Ironforge

Leave Ironforge through the main gate and follow the road down into the Dun Morogh valley. Reaching the capital itself is covered in how to get to Ironforge.
Head east along the road past Kharanos and Gol'Bolar Quarry.
The road runs into the mountains at South Gate Outpost, where mountaineers stand guard.
Go through the South Gate Pass tunnel: the snow gives way to the green slopes of Loch Modan.
Turn northeast along the road, and in a couple of minutes the houses of Thelsamar appear.

There is also a northern route through North Gate Pass, but it comes out closer to Algaz Station and the road to the Wetlands. For Thelsamar the South Gate is more convenient. All roads into the zone are covered in how to get to Loch Modan.

For humans and night elves

Take the Deeprun Tram from Stormwind to Ironforge and follow the route above. Players coming from the Wetlands arrive from the north: from Menethil Harbor through the Dun Algaz tunnel, see how to get to the Wetlands.

By air

The Thelsamar flight path opens after your first visit. Talk to the gryphon master Thorgrum Borrelson and from then on you can fly here from Ironforge or Menethil Harbor. The route network is explained in the flight paths guide.

How to Get There as Horde

For the Horde, Thelsamar is an enemy town.

Unlock the flight path at Kargath in the Badlands, as described in how to get to Kargath.
From the Badlands climb north into Loch Modan.
Follow the road north towards the western shore of the lake.

What You Will Find in Thelsamar

The heart of the town is the Stoutlager Inn. Innkeeper Hearthstove binds your hearthstone, and vendors with food and trade goods work nearby. Thelsamar also has a flight path, a mailbox, a forge with an anvil and a graveyard, and next to the Explorers' League house stand dwarves who send adventurers to the excavations.
