How to Get to Un'Goro Crater: the Path Down from Tanaris for Alliance and Horde
How to get to Un'Goro Crater (often searched as «Ungoro») is a question that comes up around level 48: the huge dinosaur crater lies in southern Kalimdor, below the level of the surrounding deserts, and only two roads lead down into it. Below are routes for the Alliance and the Horde, landmarks for the descent and flight paths on the WoW x5 server running Vanilla 1.12.1.

◆Where Un'Goro Crater is
Un'Goro Crater is a tropical sunken zone in southern Kalimdor, between Tanaris to the east and Silithus to the west. The recommended level is 48–55. The crater is surrounded by sheer walls, so you can only get inside by two paths: from Tanaris (the main route) and from Silithus (through the north-western corner).
The only safe camp is the neutral Marshal's Refuge by the northern wall of the crater: vendors, quests and a flight master for both factions.
How to get there as Alliance
- Reach Gadgetzan in Tanaris. From the Eastern Kingdoms take the boat from Menethil Harbor to Theramore, then the gryphon if you have the flight point. There is no direct road from Dustwallow Marsh to Tanaris — on foot you go through The Barrens and Thousand Needles.
- Discover the Gadgetzan flight path — useful for both Un'Goro and Silithus.
- Head west to the edge of Tanaris, where the descent into the crater begins.
- Walk down the winding path — the long trail zigzags down the slope and brings you to the eastern side of Un'Goro.
- Go north to Marshal's Refuge and discover the flight point.
How to get there as Horde
- Reach Gadgetzan. If you already have the Tanaris flight point, fly from Orgrimmar or Thunder Bluff. If not, walk south from the Barrens through Thousand Needles and the Shimmering Flats into Tanaris.
- From Gadgetzan head west to the descent into the crater.
- Walk down the winding path into eastern Un'Goro.
- Go north to Marshal's Refuge.
- Discover the flight point — from now on you can fly into the crater directly.
Your first visit is always on foot. On the way through Tanaris, pick up quests in Gadgetzan: many of them lead into Un'Goro. More on travel in the flight paths guide.
◆Where the descent is and how not to get lost
- The descent from Tanaris is on the western edge of Tanaris. The road winds down the crater wall; at the top you still meet Tanaris mobs, at the bottom the dinosaurs begin.
- Marshal's Refuge is by the northern wall of the crater, in a cave on high ground. It is the main base of the zone.
- The exit to Silithus is in the north-western corner of the crater, where a trail climbs the slope. The route is described in how to get to Silithus.
- Dangers: raptor packs, pterrordaxes and large roaming devilsaurs that hit very hard. Skirt around them along the edge of the path.

Un'Goro Crater is one of the best zones for levels 48–55:

- the way onward to Silithus and the Ahn'Qiraj raids.
