Where Wailing Caverns is

The entrance sits in the hills of the southwestern Barrens, southwest of The Crossroads. On the surface it is a dark crevice in the rocks; several NPCs with intro quests stand nearby — grab them before you go in.

How to get there

Horde:

  1. Travel to The Crossroads, the central Horde hub in the Barrens (flight point from Orgrimmar).
  2. Head southwest toward the Wailing Caverns hills along the road.

Alliance:

  1. Enter the Barrens from Ashenvale (via Mor'shan) or come up from Thousand Needles.
  2. Stay south of the Crossroads and move to the cave in the southwest, avoiding Horde patrols.

What is inside

  • Bosses: Kobrahn, Lady Anacondra, Skum, Deviate Faerie Dragon, Mutanus the Devourer.
  • The key mechanic is escorting the druid Naralex to his altar and defending him.
  • Many quests reward level 18-24 gear and reputation; on x5 groups form fast.
