Wailing Caverns is one of the first Horde dungeons in WoW Classic. Winding tunnels, Emerald Dream corruption, and the Defilers who guard them. On WoW Classic X5 a group of levels 15–20 clears in 30–40 minutes.

Route
Wailing Caverns is a labyrinth. Standard route: 1. Entrance → Lady Anacondra (left corridor) 2. → Lord Cobrahn 3. → Lord Pythas 4. → Naralex (rescue from cage for quest) 5. → Lord Serpentis 6. → Mutanus (spawned by Naralex's questline)
Naralex is a quest NPC who must be freed from his cage. Without his questline, Mutanus will not spawn. Ensure the entire group has picked up the dungeon quest from the NPC at the entrance.

Tips for WoW Classic X5
1. On x5 rates level 16–17 is the ideal entry point; fast XP gains 2. Nature resistance is not needed, but bring a healer who can remove poisons 3. Venomstrike is the best bow for Hunters from level 15–40 — easy to farm 4. Mutanus only appears after Naralex finishes his scripted emotes — wait for it!
