Upper Blackrock Spire: UBRS Walkthrough & Attunement

The entrance opens with the Orb of Command, which requires the Seal of Ascension (assembled in LBRS/BRD). It drops strong pre-raid gear and completes part of the Onyxia attunement.

How to get there
Take the same route as LBRS, but at the great door in the upper Spire use the Orb of Command — this needs the Seal of Ascension (a chain through LBRS and Blackrock Depths). Without the key the door won't open and a rogue can't pick it.

Useful quests
Key chains: the Seal of Ascension (the UBRS key) and the Onyxia attunement — killing General Drakkisath yields Blackhand's Command. This is also where part of the Tier 0.5 quests are done. Quests are handed out in the Burning Steppes and at the entrance.
Notable loot
Key drops: the Dal'Rend set (sword and off-hand shield from Rend), Spinal Reaper (two-hand axe) and the Draconian Deflector (fire-resist shield) from Drakkisath, plus rare trinkets. The Onyxia attunement makes UBRS mandatory before raids.
x5 server tips
On x5 you form up for UBRS around level 58–60. Bring fire resistance for Drakkisath, fear removal for the events, and a full group of 10 (or a strong five). Kill Drakkisath for Blackhand's Command — a step of the Onyxia attunement.
