Neltharion's Tear competes with the Atiesh synergy as a source of sustained spell damage. For players who have not yet assembled Atiesh, the Tear is the best available trinket slot alternative before Naxxramas.

Mages and warlocks benefit most — their DPS scales directly with spell damage. Shadow priests and Elemental shamans also see a significant gain. Balance druids use it to power up Starfire and Moonfire.

- Watch the loot system: the trinket is wanted by multiple roles — prioritise by raid DPS contribution. If a mage or warlock has no spell trinket at all, they take priority over someone with an already decent option.
