Tier 2.5 Striker's Garb — Hunter Set
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruStriker's Garb is the Tier 2.5 raid set for the Hunter in WoW Classic Vanilla. The set consists of 5 pieces of mail armor obtained in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40) — the 40-man raid in the Silithus desert. It is the step after the Tier 2 Hunter set; the full overview of all classes is in the Tier 2.5 sets hub.
What is Striker's Garb
Tier 2.5 is the raid gear from the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj; in power it sits between Tier 2 from Blackwing Lair and Tier 3 from Naxxramas. The Striker's Garb set is built for the ranged DPS role and fills 5 slots: head, shoulders, chest, legs and feet. Bonuses activate at 3 and 5 pieces.
Set Bonuses
| Pieces | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 3 | Reduces the mana cost of Arcane Shot by 10%. |
| 5 | Reduces the cooldown of Rapid Fire by 2 minutes. |
Just 3 pieces already give a noticeable boost, and the full 5/5 unlocks the set completely. Many players mix Tier 2.5 with non-set BiS items from AQ40, trading part of the bonus for better stats in specific slots.

How the pieces are obtained
The key difference of Tier 2.5 from Tier 1/Tier 2: finished set pieces do not drop. AQ40 bosses drop generic armor tokens that you bring to the guardian dragons (Vethsera, Kandrostrasz, Andorgos) in the left wing of the temple. The dragon turns the token into an item for your class — but besides the token you also need crafting materials (idols, scarabs) and Brood of Nozdormu reputation.
The Hunter uses the Qiraji Bindings of Command token line: shoulders and boots are made from these bindings — one binding gives either the shoulders OR the boots, so you need two bindings for both slots.
Where the tokens drop
| Slot | Token | Boss source |
|---|---|---|
| Head | Vek'nilash's Circlet | Twin Emperors |
| Chest | Husk of the Old God | C'Thun |
| Legs | Skin of the Great Sandworm | Ouro |
| Shoulders / Feet | Qiraji Bindings of Command | Viscidus and Princess Huhuran |
Don't confuse the two AQ40 token types. The armor tokens above go into the Tier 2.5 set. But Imperial Qiraji Armaments and Imperial Qiraji Regalia are weapon tokens: they are turned in to different dragons near C'Thun's chamber, along with Elementium Ore, for the legendary Qiraji blades and staves. They have nothing to do with the set armor.
Is it worth it on WowX5 x5
On x5 rates progression to AQ40 is much faster than on 1x Classic. The Striker's Garb set gives:
- a strong stat base for the ranged DPS role;
- unique 3- and 5-piece set bonuses;
- a stepping stone in progression — after AQ40 the road opens to the Tier 3 set from Naxxramas.

What's next
Once you have Tier 2.5, move on to the Tier 3 set from Naxxramas. If earlier steps are still open, collect the Tier 2 Hunter and Tier 1 Hunter sets. Class overview is on the Hunter page, and all Tier 2.5 classes are in the hub.
