Herod — the Scarlet Champion, Armory Boss
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruHerod — the Scarlet Champion
Herod is the only boss of the Armory wing and probably the most farmed boss in the whole Monastery. He trains alone in a large hall — just open the door and the fight begins. The main reason for these runs is his legendary loot.
Tactics
- At the start Herod uses Whirlwind (Blades of Light) — he spins, dealing AoE damage. Melee back off
for a couple seconds, ranged keep their distance.
- At ~50% HP he goes into a Frenzy/Enrage, speeds up and summons Scarlet trainees from
nearby rooms. The healer raises healing on the tank; the group either AoEs the adds or burns the boss.
- Keep Herod facing away from the group; on x5 he drops fast under focused damage.
Loot
| Item | Slot | For |
|---|---|---|
| Ravager | two-handed axe | warrior/paladin/hunter |
| Herod's Shoulder | shoulder | warrior/tank |
| Raging Berserker's Helm | head | warrior |
The Ravager is the legendary drop: an axe with a chance to trigger its own Whirlwind. People farm the Armory over dozens of runs for it.
Tips for WoW Classic x5
1. The Armory can be farmed almost non-stop — a short path to Herod with fast respawns. 2. On a reroll the Ravager carries you well past level 40. 3. Watch the enrage phase: adds from nearby rooms easily finish off the healer.
