Guard Mol'dar is one of the three ogre guards of Dire Maul North (Gordok Commons). His fate depends on whether you run for tribute.

Tactics

Tribute run. For the reward chest, leave Mol'dar alive (skip/CC past) — the group then gets Mol'dar's Moxie and a better chest after King Gordok.
Normal clear. If you don't want tribute, kill Mol'dar as a sturdy ogre guard: wall-tank him and heal the tank.
Heavy hits. Like all Gordok ogres he hits hard in an AoE — stay grouped.
On x5 the fight itself is easy; it's only a question of run strategy.

Should I kill Guard Mol'dar?

If you do the tribute run (for the reward chest), leave Mol'dar alive — then after beating King Gordok the group gets Mol'dar's Moxie and a better chest. On a normal clear you can kill him.

What does Mol'dar's Moxie give?

It is a lasting buff that boosts damage, granted on the tribute run if Mol'dar is left alive until King Gordok is defeated.
