WoW Classic Vanilla PvP means intense duels, large-scale Battleground battles, and spontaneous open-world clashes. On WowX5 with x5 rates, you reach PvP-ready level quickly and start earning Honor Points right away.

Honor System

In Vanilla, PvP is tied to ranks. Kill players from the opposing faction, earn Honourable Kills, and climb the ranks:

Ranks 1–5 — baseline; unlock the first reward items.
Ranks 10–14 — best PvP set: weapons and armor on par with MC/BWL raid gear.
Rank decays relative to other players' activity — consistent play is required.

Battlegrounds

Three Battlegrounds in Vanilla 1.12.1:

Warsong Gulch (WSG) — capture the flag, 10 vs 10. Speed, agility, teamwork.
Arathi Basin (AB) — capture points, 15 vs 15. Strategy and map control.
Alterac Valley (AV) — large-scale battle, 40 vs 40, attacking the enemy base.

Best PvP Classes

S-Tier

Rogue — stealth burst, CC, full control of duels.
Mage — Frostbolt kiting, AoE Freeze, high burst damage.
Warrior — top gear = top damage, nearly unkillable in full raid BiS.

A-Tier

Shaman (Horde) — Earthshock interrupt, Windfury, totems.
Paladin (Alliance) — Divine Shield, heals, Blessings.
Warlock — DoT+Fear, great in duels, chaotic CC.

Situational (B-Tier)

Priest, Druid, Hunter — niche roles; strong with the right gear.

Open-World PvP

WowX5's open world is alive: clashes near bosses, in raid zones, at zone transitions. Tips:

Keep a PvP trinket to break CC.
Keep heals and potions on hand — Vanilla has no automatic combat recovery.
Group up: 5 vs 1 encounters in the open world are completely normal.

What is the best class for PvP in WoW Classic?
