Fang of the Faceless — Dagger from Zul'Gurub

Section: Items & gear 2 min read Vanilla 1.12.1 · x5 Updated 04.08.2026

Fang of the Faceless is a fast epic dagger from Zul'Gurub. A 1.90 speed, +28 attack power and +1% crit make it a great rogue pick for the main hand (Backstab) and off hand (Sinister Strike). It drops from Hakkar. On WowX5 x5 ZG runs are frequent — the dagger is quick to reach.

Zul'Gurub items sit at the top pre-raid tier: they help close slots before BWL and AQ, and on an x5 server they drop noticeably faster.

Where to Get Fang of the Faceless

  1. Zul'Gurub — a 20-player raid in Stranglethorn; the dagger drops from Hakkar, the final boss.
  2. Hakkar — watch Corrupted Blood and Blood Siphon; weaken the boss by killing the priests.
  3. For rogues: a fast off-hand boosts poison uptime and Sinister Strike.
  4. Drop: occasional; Hakkar is a weekly target — the dagger shines in main and off hand.
Совет

On WowX5 x5 Zul'Gurub is the ideal source of pre-raid gear: a short raid lockout and faster loot let you close slots in just a few runs. Gather a group every reset.

Who Should Use Fang of the Faceless

  • Rogue — the fast speed is ideal for the off hand and poisons; AP and crit for the main hand.
  • Enhancement shaman — a dagger for a fast-hand rotation.
  • Hybrids — a strong fast melee weapon for the pre-raid stage.

FAQ

Where does Fang of the Faceless drop?

Fang of the Faceless drops from Hakkar the Soulflayer in the Zul'Gurub raid (20 players, Stranglethorn Vale). On WowX5 x5 the short weekly ZG lockout and faster mechanics let you farm the raid more often and reach the loot you need sooner.

Who needs Fang of the Faceless?

Rogues first — a fast dagger for the off hand and Backstab; also Enhancement shamans and melee hybrids.

Is Fang of the Faceless pre-raid level?

Yes. Zul'Gurub items are top pre-raid and early-raid tier: comparable to level-60 dungeon loot and behind only BWL and AQ gear. A great goal while you prepare for the bigger raids.
