Flask of Distilled Wisdom
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruFlask of Distilled Wisdom is the main "mana pool" consumable for healers in WoW Vanilla. It grants +2000 maximum mana for 2 hours and persists through death. That makes it the standard for long progression fights where every heal cast counts. See the raid consumables guide for a role-by-role overview.
Effect and stats
+2000 mana is an extra reserve worth roughly a burst of strong heals. A large pool is especially valuable under mana batching and combined with in-combat recovery (druid Innervate, mana restoration).
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Effect | +2000 maximum mana |
| Duration | 2 hours |
| On death | Persists (not removed) |
| Profession | Alchemy 300 |
| Brew location | Alchemy Lab (Scholomance) |
How to get it
Like the other flasks, it is brewed by a 300-skill alchemist only at the Alchemy Lab inside the Scholomance dungeon. Reagents are expensive — the flask is made for a specific raid.
Mechanic: elixir slots and alternatives
The flask occupies both elixir slots at once, so you cannot use a regen elixir like Mageblood Potion alongside it. The choice depends on the fight: on very long fights a large pool plus periodic regen matters more; on short ones a regen + battle elixir combo can be better.
Who needs the flask
The flask is for healers: priest, restoration druid, restoration shaman and paladin. Their BiS builds (see priest BiS) balance crit and mana pool with the flask in mind. Some caster DPS on long fights also use it for a bigger damage window.
Practical tips for x5
Apply the flask before pulling a long boss and plan your mana-recovery cycles (Evocation, Innervate, world buffs with crit-based regen). On an accelerated server raids happen more often — gather a stock in advance via the guild bank.
