Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros
Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros is the legendary two-handed mace of WoW Vanilla — the weapon of the Firelord himself. It is one of the earliest legendaries available on the server and a landmark trophy for any guild clearing Molten Core.

Weapon stats
Sulfuras is a slow two-handed mace with very high damage per swing. On hit it can hurl a fireball, and while it is equipped anyone who strikes you in melee takes 5 Fire damage. There is no permanent aura that burns nearby enemies. Until Blackwing Lair arrived in patch 1.6, Sulfuras had the highest DPS of any melee weapon in the game.

How to build it: step by step
Building Sulfuras has two independent halves — the Sulfuron Hammer and the Eye of Sulfuras — that are then combined.
Step 1: Plans: Sulfuron Hammer
Everything starts with a Sulfuron Ingot, which drops from Golemagg the Incinerator in Molten Core. Talk to Lokhtos Darkbargainer in the Grim Guzzler tavern in Blackrock Depths with an ingot in your bags and he offers the quest A Binding Contract. Hand over one ingot and you receive 
[Plans: Sulfuron Hammer]. No Thorium Brotherhood reputation is required for this quest.
Step 2: Sulfuron Hammer
The hammer is crafted with Blacksmithing (300) at the Black Anvil in Blackrock Depths, with a Blacksmith Hammer in your bags. Materials:

Counting the ingot for the plans, you need 9 Sulfuron Ingots in total. The hammer itself is Bind on Equip, so any guild blacksmith can craft it and hand it to the future owner.

The second component is the Eye of Sulfuras, which drops only from Ragnaros (roughly 3%). It is Bind on Pickup and can drop for any class. Using the Eye while you hold a Sulfuron Hammer turns it into the legendary Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros.
On an x5 server dark iron smelting and core farming go faster — start gathering Sulfuron Ingots and Arcanite early so the hammer is ready when the Eye drops.
Who should build it
Sulfuras is primarily a prestige item. Only classes with two-handed mace skill can wield it: warriors, paladins, shamans and druids. By the end of Vanilla its pure DPS trails the best two-handers from Blackwing Lair, Ahn'Qiraj and Naxxramas, but it remains a collector's dream. The path runs through a full clear of Molten Core and killing Ragnaros.
Farming tactics on x5
Sulfuras is a marathon of two parallel tasks, so split the effort in advance. While the raid tries for the Eye from Ragnaros every week, your blacksmith collects Sulfuron Ingots from Golemagg and the guild stockpiles Dark Iron Bars, Arcanite and Blood of the Mountain. On an x5 server ore and core farming is noticeably faster than on classic realms, but the Eye's drop chance does not change.
A few practical tips:
- Keep a dedicated bank tab for legendary materials — Fiery Core and Lava Core are also used in other recipes and are easy to spend by accident.
- Agree with your guild that the Eye of Sulfuras is reserved for a specific player: splitting the drop between rivals drags assembly out for months.
- Get the plans and craft the Sulfuron Hammer in advance so that only the final combine remains when the Eye drops.
This approach turns a random drop into a predictable project and lets you claim one of the server's first legendaries as fast as possible.
