Warlock Pets in 1.12.1: Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus and Felhunter
Warlock pets are half of the class power in WoW Classic 1.12.1. The right demon tanks enemies, strips magic from you, locks down an opponent in PvP or buffs the whole group. Warlocks level fast on the WoW x5 server, and swapping demons for the task at hand is one of the simplest ways to play better. Below is which demon to bring for leveling, dungeons, raids and PvP.

◆All Warlock Demons
The Imp is available from level 1 and needs no reagent. The other permanent demons are rewarded by class quests and consume a soul shard on every summon; see our guide to warlock demon quests for how to get them and the soul shards guide for farming shards.

Abilities of Each Demon
Imp
The Imp attacks with Firebolt from range and grants the party the Blood Pact aura, which increases Stamina. Fire Shield deals fire damage to anyone who hits the shielded ally in melee, and Phase Shift takes the Imp out of combat so it does not break crowd control.
Voidwalker
The main tank among demons. Torment pulls an enemy onto it, Suffering taunts all nearby enemies, and Consume Shadows restores health out of combat. Sacrifice destroys the demon and gives its master a 30-second shield that absorbs damage and prevents spell pushback interruptions.
Succubus
Lash of Pain is quick shadow damage and Soothing Kiss reduces threat. The key ability is Seduction: up to 15 seconds of full control over a humanoid, broken by any damage. It is the best warlock crowd control in dungeons and in PvP against humans, elves, orcs and other humanoids.
Felhunter
Devour Magic removes a harmful effect from an ally or a beneficial one from an enemy and heals the Felhunter. Spell Lock interrupts a spell and locks that school of magic for 6 seconds. Paranoia improves stealth detection, which is valuable against rogues and druids.
Infernal and Doomguard
Inferno calls an Infernal down from the sky, stunning enemies at the impact point; it requires an Infernal Stone. Ritual of Doom at level 60 requires a Demonic Figurine and four helpers, and one ritual participant dies. The Infernal obeys only for a limited time, while the Doomguard must be enslaved immediately after summoning — use Enslave Demon, or the demon will attack the group.

In dungeons, turn off autocast for the Voidwalker's Torment and Suffering when a warrior is tanking — otherwise your pet will steal enemies from the tank.
Demonology Talents
- Demonic Sacrifice. Sacrificing your demon grants a 30-minute effect: Imp — +15% fire damage, Voidwalker — restores 3% of health every 4 seconds, Succubus — +15% shadow damage, Felhunter — restores 2% of mana every 4 seconds. The basis of the popular raid build.
- Soul Link. A tier 7 talent: 30% of damage taken by the master is redirected to the demon, and both deal 3% more damage. Very strong in PvP and while leveling.
- Master Demonologist. The bonus depends on the demon: Imp reduces threat, Voidwalker reduces physical damage taken, Succubus increases all damage, Felhunter increases resistances.

FAQ
?Which warlock pet is best for leveling?
Most warlocks level with the Voidwalker: it holds enemies on itself and Sacrifice gives you a shield in an emergency. The Felhunter and Imp are good when mobs are weak or you need more damage.
?Which demon should I bring to a raid?
Raids most often use the Imp for the Blood Pact Stamina buff, or sacrifice the Succubus with the Demonic Sacrifice talent for 15% more Shadow damage.
?How do I get the Infernal and Doomguard?
The Infernal is summoned by Inferno from level 50 and requires an Infernal Stone. The Doomguard is called by Ritual of Doom at level 60 with a Demonic Figurine and four party members. Both must be enslaved right away.
?Do I need a soul shard to summon a demon?
The Imp needs no reagent. Summoning the Voidwalker, Succubus or Felhunter consumes one soul shard each time.
