Focus is the combat resource of the hunter pet, the pet analog of a rogue's energy. The beast spends focus on its abilities and regenerates it over time. Along with focus, a pet must be watched on two bars: happiness and loyalty.
Feed your pet its favorite food type up to "Happy" status — that is a direct boost to the beast's damage. A hungry pet not only hits weaker but may also run away, losing loyalty.
Focus — the beast's energy
The pet builds focus up to 100 and restores it gradually. Focus is spent on the beast's combat abilities:
- Bite and Claw — the pet's main damage.
- Growl — holds threat (a taunt analog).
- Screech — lowers the target's armor for some families.
Abilities are set to autocast, and the pet spends focus on its own in combat — just as a rogue spends energy.
Happiness and loyalty
