pfQuest: Quest Addon and Database for WoW Classic

pfQuest is one of the two main quest helpers for WoW Classic (an alternative to Questie) by the pfUI author. On the WowX5 x5 server it speeds up levelling: quest markers, herb and ore gathering nodes, and a built-in database of items, mobs and objects — all in-game with no alt-tabbing.
What pfQuest does
- Quest markers — where to pick up, complete and turn in quests, on the world map and minimap.
- Gathering nodes — herb, ore, chest and fishing spots right on the map (great for professions).
- Database — search items, mobs, quests and objects with /db without leaving the game.
- Objective tracker — quest progress and quest-chain hints.
- pfUI kinship — same author (shagu), perfect fit with the pfUI interface.
pfQuest and Questie do the same job — don't run both at once, they conflict. Pick one: pfQuest is lighter and includes the database and gathering nodes.
Installing pfQuest
Addons in WoW Classic are installed manually by copying a folder. For pfQuest: 1. Download the addon for the 1.12.1 (Vanilla) client, not Era/Retail. 2. Unzip it. Inside there should be a pfQuest folder with a .toc file. 3. Copy the folder into <WoW folder>/Interface/AddOns/. 4. Launch WoW, click "AddOns" at the bottom-left of the character screen. 5. Make sure the addon is listed and checked, then log in.

Tuning for x5 rates
On x5 rates you outgrow zones fast. Enable the level filter in pfQuest so grey quests are hidden, and keep gathering nodes on — herbs and ore picked up along the way pay for your professions.
Compatibility and combos
The addon works well with:
- pfUI — interface by the same author
- Questie — alternative quest helper
- Gatherer — track gathering spots
Don't run pfQuest together with Questie — two quest engines overwrite each other's markers and drop FPS.
Common problems and fixes
No markers on the map: Type /pfquest toggle and make sure the version is for Classic 1.12.1, not Era/Retail.
Folder is named pfQuest-master: Rename it to pfQuest — the name must match the .toc.
Gathering nodes gone: Enable herbs/mining/treasure display for the current zone in settings.
