The Priest epic PvP set
At the top honor ranks the priest unlocks an epic PvP set. Alliance players earn Field Marshal's Raiment (rank Field Marshal), Horde players earn Warlord's Raiment (rank Warlord). It is cloth armor tuned for healing and control.
The armor is bought with your earned honor rank, not gold or battleground marks. Climb the rank and the pieces unlock at the PvP quartermaster in your capital.
Set pieces and required rank
Pieces unlock gradually as your honor rank climbs. Weapons and the best items require the maximum rank 14 (Grand Marshal / High Warlord).

Set bonuses
Wearing the full set grants class set bonuses:
- (2) pieces: +20 Stamina
- (3) pieces: Psychic Scream duration increased by 1 sec
- (6) pieces: +23 spell damage and healing
The middle set-bonus threshold is implemented as 3 or 4 pieces depending on the core — 1.12.1 sources disagree. On the x5 server, trust the item tooltip in-game.
How to earn it: ranks 13 and 14
1. Farm Honor in battlegrounds (Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Alterac Valley) and world PvP. Rank is recalculated weekly from the honor you earned that week relative to other players of your faction. 2. Rank 13 (Field Marshal / Warlord) unlocks the epic armor set. 3. Rank 14 (Grand Marshal / High Warlord) unlocks the epic weapons and top items — some of the best gear in the game before Naxxramas. 4. Items are handed out by the PvP quartermaster once you hold the required rank: Alliance — Sergeant Major Clate in Champion's Hall, Stormwind; Horde — First Sergeant Hola'mahi in the Hall of Legends, Orgrimmar.
Rank 14 requires staying at the top of the server honor ladder for several weeks. Once you hit the rank, buy the items immediately — if your rank drops you lose access to the purchase.
Lower-rank blue PvP sets
Before the epic set the priest collects a blue (rare) 6-piece PvP set from ranks 7–10: boots and gloves at rank 7 (Knight-Lieutenant's (Alliance) / Blood Guard's (Horde)), chest and legs at rank 8 (Knight-Captain's / Legionnaire's), helm and shoulders at rank 10 (Lieutenant Commander's / Champion's). It is cloth armor — a handy stepping stone while you grind rank toward the epics.
Is it worth it: priest PvP set vs raid gear
The +23 spell power lets the priest both heal and deal Shadow damage. It is the priest's number-one PvP choice: Stamina and spell power save this fragile class. In PvE Shadow and Holy build raid pieces, but the set is a great stopgap.
On the x5 server
On x5 leveling to 60 is faster, so the race for ranks on the battlegrounds starts earlier — it is easier to lock in a top-standing spot at the start of a season. The armor does not age out instantly: paired with a raid Tier and the rank 14 weapons it gives the class a strong PvP profile. Plan the grind ahead — skipping a week rolls your rank back due to decay (about 20% of rank points at the weekly reset).
