Leveling from 1 to 60 is the core of WoW Classic. Understanding how experience is granted and how the rested bonus works saves dozens of hours. On the WowX5 x5 realm experience is already five times faster, and using rest well speeds it up even more.

Sources of experience

Killing mobsBase source; scales with the mob's level relative to yours

Совет

Keep active quests in your log and kill mobs "on the way" to quest objectives — mob and quest XP stack with no wasted time.

How Rested XP works

Rest is an accumulated bonus that doubles experience from killing mobs (200% instead of 100%). It appears as the blue part of your XP bar.

Where rest builds

  • In an inn or capital city — maximum accumulation speed.
  • Anywhere else (offline) — roughly four times slower.
  • An online character does not build rest (only offline, or standing in an inn).

How much accumulates

  • Rate: about 5% of a level per 8 hours offline in an inn.
  • Maximum: one and a half levels of stored rest (30 XP-bar bubbles).
  • The bonus is spent as you kill mobs: while the blue zone exists, mobs grant x2.

Practical tips for beginners

1. Always log out in an inn or city — even a short break builds rest. 2. Start a session by farming mobs while the bonus is active — the most efficient XP. 3. Alternate quests (rest-independent) and mob farming (rest-dependent) for smooth leveling. 4. On x5 don't skip quests — their gold and item rewards matter more than on low rates.

FAQ

How does Rested XP work in WoW Classic?

While your character is offline in an inn or city, rested experience accumulates (the blue part of the XP bar). In this state, killing mobs grants 200% experience (double). Quest rewards are not affected by rest.

What is the maximum rested pool?

The rested cap is one and a half levels (30 XP-bar bubbles). It builds at roughly 5% of a level per 8 hours offline in an inn; outside an inn it builds four times slower.

Is experience boosted on the x5 realm?

Yes, the base XP rate from kills and quests is multiplied by 5, so levels come noticeably faster. The rested bonus stacks on top, making the first hours of a session especially efficient.
