Tauren racial abilities

Tauren racials matter both while leveling and in PvP — they add damage, survivability or convenience. The full breakdown with exact values lives on the Tauren racials page. Keep them in mind, but pick a comfortable class first: racial bonuses matter most at level 60.

◆Available classes

The Tauren can play the following classes: warrior, hunter, shaman, druid. For a first character, choose a durable, forgiving class so early mistakes don't cost you. Not sure who to roll? Starting zone and first steps

Tauren begins in the Mulgore starting area. Grab every starter quest — they run a compact loop and hand out XP, silver and your first gear. Learn class skills from your trainer by level 5–6 and set up a basic rotation. Once the starter quests are done, head to the capital Thunder Bluff for new ranks and professions. Professions and starter gear

Pick up two gathering professions early (for example herbalism + mining, or skinning + mining) around level 5–6 — materials from your first mobs pay for your future mount. Save a crafting profession for later. For gear, favor items that boost your class's main stat and lean on quest rewards rather than the auction house at low levels.

Where to go after level 10

By level 10–12 the starting zone is done. Follow the Horde leveling route into neighboring zones: check the leveling zones 1–60 map and the levels 10–20 guide, and visit the capital for new skill ranks.
