High ping and lag in WoW x5: how to reduce latency
Vanilla WoW Classic 1.12 · x5 realm · wowx5.ruHigh ping and 'rubber-banding' are about the network, not the graphics card. The WoW x5 server is placed for the CIS audience, so ping is low for most players. If latency is high, the cause is almost always local: Wi-Fi, background downloads or ISP routing.
Ping vs FPS
It is important to separate two things:
- Ping (ms) — the delay of exchange with the server. It governs spell delay and mobs that 'teleport'. This is the network.

Both values appear when you hover the menu button (the mic icon) in game.
Step 1: wired connection
Wi-Fi introduces latency spikes and packet loss. If possible:
- Connect the PC to the router with a cable.
- If Wi-Fi only — sit closer to the router and use the 5 GHz band.
Step 2: remove background load

Step 3: routing and ISP
- Reboot the router (full power-off for 30 seconds).

ping play.wowx5.ru. Stable values without loss are fine; big spikes andtimeoutpoint to an ISP routing problem.

Step 4: addons and in-game lag
